Filipino Style Spaghetti -- with a Twist of cinnamon!
Spaghetti is one of the Filipinos favorite merienda or handa in all occasions. But in this recipe, we will add a twist in our traditional spaghetti by adding cinnamon on it!
Ingredients:
- 1500-gram spaghetti noodles, uncooked
- 4-6 pcs. regular hotdogs, sliced in cubes 1/4 inch thick
- 6 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 piece small-size white onion , minced
- 1 piece medium size carrot, diced
- 1 piece medium size red bell pepper, minced
- 1 26 oz. pack or jar tomato sauce
- 1 pack (450 g) bacon diced
- 2 tablespoon cinnamon powder
How to cook:
- Cook the noodles according to the pasta's package instructions. And set it aside
- In a saucepan, prepare the sauce by heating the olive oil, saute the bacon until crispy. then add garlic and onion. add ground beef and pork, cook until meat mixture slightly brown.
- Then add diced carrots and bell pepper. pour in tomato sauce . Add water until desired consistency is achieved. Put sugar and cinnamon and season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 4 to 6 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
- In individual plate, put the noodles and and pour the spaghetti sauce over them and top with grated cheese. Serve and watch your kids as they break out into smiles.
Makes about 4 to 6 servings
