Easy but delicious Picadillo!





Picadillio is one of the fast and easiest Pinoy dishes that you can whip up! In just only 20 minutes, it's already in the table.



Ingredients:



  • 2 tablespoons canola oil

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced 

  • 1 piece medium - size onion, coarsely chopped 

  • 1/2 kilogram ground pork

  • 1/2 kilogram ground beef

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • freshly ground pepper to taste

  • 6 cups beef stock ( see recipe below )

  • 2 pieces medium - size potatoes, peeled and diced 

  • 2 pieces medium - size carrots, peeled and diced

  • 1 piece red bell pepper, seeded and diced 

How to Cook: 




  • In a pan, heat oil and saute garlic and onion. Add ground beef and pork, saute until brown. Add soy sauce and pepper.




  • Add beef stock


  • Add potatoes and carrots, and boil until tender. Add bell peppers.


Tips on How to Make Beef Stock: 2 kilograms beef bones ( marrow,knee caps ), cleaned


  • 2 pieces onions, quartered 


  • 3 pieces carrots, chopped 


  • 2 stalks celery, chopped


  • 1 tablespoon whole peppercorns


  • 3 liters ( or 12 cups ) water

* Mix all ingredients in a stockpot and let it boil for 1 to 2 hours. Skim off fat. Strain liquid after boiling.
