Tinolang manok is one of the Filipinos favorite ulam. Our Nanay's menu of the week is not complete without tinola on her list. That's why in this recipe we gonna add a little twist on our favorite classic tinola!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. Chicken wings and thigh
- 3 thumbs ginger
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 small unripe papaya or chayote,sliced into wedges
- 2 pieces thai chili
- 1 cup malunggay leaves
- 2 cups coconut milk (gata)
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon grond black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
How to cook:
- In a sauce pan saute ginger, garlic and onion. Over high heat, add chicken, ground pepper and fish sauce and saute for 5 minutes. Mix well.
- Add papaya or chayote. Then pour coconut milk, water, and chili. Let boil and simmer until chicken and vegetables are cooked.
- Adjust seasoning and add malunggay leaves and simmer for a minute before serving.
